Diagnostic Radiology
In the X-Ray Department at Griffin Hospital, you will find our staff of state licensed and board certified professionals in ‘constant readiness’ for emergency, convenient care, and scheduled outpatient exams. We are staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for inpatients and emergency exams. Routine exams for walk-in (plain film radiography) and scheduled outpatients are available Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.
Outfitted with only the best detection tools and state-of-the-art equipment, the Radiology Department provides the ability for fluoroscopic examinations, bone densitometry, and plain film radiography.
Bone Density
The X-Ray Department offers bone densitometry to help evaluate osteopenic (reduction in bone volume) and osteoporotic (decrease in bone mass) conditions. The department features a GE Bone Densitometer, which provides high diagnostic quality images of the spine, hip, and wrist for the diagnosis of irregularities in bone mass.
The X-Ray department boasts state-of-the-art imaging equipment. With its own waiting area and private changing rooms, patients are made to feel as comfortable as possible. In keeping with Griffin Hospital’s commitment to the Planetree Model of Care, adult and children video programming is offered as well as a pediatric toy chest, music therapy, and aromatherapy. Complimentary valet parking is available to all outpatients who use Griffin Hospital’s Diagnostic Imaging Services. This program is offered Monday through Friday.
We are proud of the fact that our X-Ray Department is recognized by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).
Our X-Ray Department is another example of how Griffin Hospital is changing the face of healthcare.
