Griffin Hospital offers Philips Lifeline, the #1 medical alert service. It is easy to use and designed to reduce the risk of living alone. Lifeline reassures people with special needs that they're in touch with help - quickly. Older adults living on their own, people with a history of falling or heart disease, or people with diabetes may be good candidates for a Lifeline system.
In the event of a fall or an emergency, help is available at the push of a button. The Lifeline Personal Help Button connects you to a trained Personal Response Associate who can contact a neighbor, family member or emergency services based on your specific needs - 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
If you don’t know if you need a Philips Lifeline system, please talk with your Griffin caregiver. You may also want to take the Independent Living Assessment, powered by Boston University Activity Measure for Post Acute Care (AM-PAC). It is a free evaluation taken online, which assesses your ability to live independently. This clinically validated assessment covers three areas of function – moving about freely, managing life skills and performing daily tasks. To take the evaluation, please click here.
